New Patients
Whether you’re expecting your first child or transferring from another practice, we’re honored you’re considering Great Destinations Pediatrics. This page will help you understand how we work, what we value, and what you need to know before your first visit.
Are we a good fit?
At Great Destinations Pediatrics, we believe great care starts with a great fit. That means shared values, mutual respect, and open communication between our providers and your family.
Here’s what you should know about our approach:
We do not see families who chose not to vaccinate. In addition, we do not accommodate for vaccines schedules that differ significantly from the schedule recommended by the AAP.
We’re careful and intentional with antibiotic use.
We do not automatically treat every earache or green nasal discharge with antibiotics.
We follow evidence-based guidelines and only prescribe when truly necessary.
We do not prescribe antibiotics over the phone without a proper in-office evaluation.
We aim to be your child’s primary medical home, offering coordinated care for when your child is sick or well.
Contact us first before seeking urgent care or specialists.
- If your child is seen at urgent care or in the emergency department after-hours, please contact us to schedule a follow-up appointment.
If you do see a specialist, please request that a report be sent to our office.
Well and sick visits are available by appointment.
We recommend calling ahead and always have same-day sick appointments available. Walk-ins will be offered the next available sick visit slot and may need to wait behind scheduled patients.
Timely arrival is expected. Arriving late may result in rescheduling.
If your child has an emergent medical need after-hours, please head to the nearest urgent care or emergency room. You can also call the triage number on the back of your insurance card for advice. If your concern can wait until the next business day, you can leave us a voicemail, and we will call you in the morning to schedule an appointment.
Please make sure we are in-network with your insurance provider.
Copays and deductibles are due at the time of service.
Our billing team is here to help, but we recommend checking with your insurance provider for specific benefit details.
